O' Christmas Tree, O' Christmas Tree

We have had two Christmas Trees in our home for a couple of years now. We have our large family one and then the girls have a tree in their room as well. Besides the usual bows and lights, I let the girls decorate their tree this year with ornaments I have collected over the years from a local designer. I have long since forgotten her name and the company, but they were my favorite collection for many Christmas Trees.

The collection is homey and simple. Buttons, gingerbread men, old fashioned stockings, bears, apples, hearts, mittens and a few misc stars and moons. Izabel did a great job at decorating the tree but I need to go back and kind of tidy it up a bit. She was so proud though. Her and Emily seem to leave their tree alone in their room. Even so, all of their ornaments are wooden or cloth.

The family tree is much larger, of course. In fact, it's top touches our ceiling. It's a beautiful tree that has become a special part of our family. Daddy and I used to be "real tree" people, but after finding this artificial, we never cut one down again.

We've always had a themed tree and each year the theme does not usually waiver. White lights and snowman ornaments. With the exception of special family ornaments, all of the decorations are snowmen. However, this year Daddy wanted to change it up a bit. Instead of just white lights, Daddy wanted blue. Blue and white lights with a touch of blue and silver decorations added into out snowmen collection.

So we did. I think it looks great, I just wish I could get a better photo of it. The girls love to touch this one and as you can see, Izabel hung most of the ornaments in her height range. I've tried to go back through and tidy this tree up a bit, but until January 7th, it's going to be a failing task.

On a side note, I'm a little disappointed in the results of my Christmas Giveaway. Cheer me up, show some love and hop over to enter.

Both trees look quite festive! Makes me want to pull out some decorations of my own.

gosh- that seems so common! I know so many people who give their kids a separate tree, and it's such a great idea!

WE have two trees, too - one down in the family room and one in the living room window. The family room one has always been full of our odds and end colection - one special one each year and then whatever strikes our fancy. The upstairs one is blue and gold with white and blue lights. The girlies are having fun rolling under the tree and looking up at the lights - so cute, but a bit dangerous! Come over and see the pix if you have a chance!

I love your trees. We have 3 trees in our house (1 in the living room and the kids each have their own).

Blue lights are great - we do purple and white, and I love seeing other trees with "different" colors, instead or just clear, or the regular multi-colored ones.

Your trees are beautiful, I hope you win! I have many wonderful ornaments from when our girls were little and I love taking them out and looking at them each year. Makes for a long decorating day!
