Blue Eyed Babies- Nikon D80 Trials

I had the pleasure of testing a Nikon D80 last night. *drooling* It was fabulous! Not to mention I didn't even get to play around with all of the features! As mentioned before, I am looking to purchase a top of the line DSLR camera in a few months. One that will allow me to continue my passion of photography and also allow me to travel several different leads and paths. Hubby and I have been picking through review after review for awhile now and I believe we have narrowed it down to a Nikon. I am interested in the Nikon D90, so the D80 was a good practice.

In addition to the body, I have also been researching the best lens to purchase. Most high end cameras are only the body. Each lens is purchased separately. So, the more I review, the more I learn. I'd love to own the AF DX Fisheye. My friend Lisa uses a Fisheye to capture some fantastic shots. I am also interested in a telephoto lens but may have to settle for a more standard, wide range lens in the end. Do any of you own a Nikon dSLR?

So, here (and Here) are a few of the shots I was able to capture with the Nikon D80. What do you think? And keep in mind, I am just learning so I may not have used the cameras full range of abilities quite accurately.

I love that picture of Izabel close up and the coloring you did with it. What a beautiful shot.

All the pictures are adorable. I can't wait until I can afford a great camera like this. They just take the best pictures.

I have a Nikon 35MM with a lens. IF you end up getting a Nikon this lense is compatible and maybe we can do something with it. Right now, since I use the digital all the time, I am not using the 35MM. It is a shame really because it is a very very nice camera. We looked into a more expensive camera also so I can use the lense but decided to go with cheap for now. I still dont know all the settings or how to use them to get the best quality.
The pictures are great, and really clear. Did you use photo shop on the 2nd one? I have to look into getting that program or a similar cheaper one myself.

That top picture? Amazing!!! I have a D40 and still barely understand anything about it. Teach me some tricks if he can!

Oh I am so jealous you'll be soon getting a DSLR!! I too have been looking at the D90 as well as a Canon and maybe within the year I too will have one!! May I ask why you are going with a Nikon over any other brand?

I am a lousy photographer, but I love to try, and I appreciate a good, crisp photo. I would love to look at a new camera - great shots!

Those are some great shots.

I have a D70 (the older version of the D80) that I love and I have been drooling over the D90.

In terms of lenses, I would definitely look at the 1.8 50mm lens. It is very crisp and great for indoor/lower light shots.

I have the kit lens (18-75mm) and like it, but I am currently looking at trading it in for the 18-200 mm lens. It is much more expensive than a telephoto, but I like that it covers both the high and low end without switching lenses, since most of my pictures are of two fast moving little girls.

Good luck with your choice!

Those are awesome...though I am partial to the coloring and angle of the second one.

Have fun testing them out!

Drolling right along with you, the D90 rocks! I have a D40 and I love it, worth every penny. Thanks for visiting Shore's End.

I think they look great! I have a canon, which I love, but sometimes I think Nikon takes better photos in certain situations. I think I need both LOL!

Uncle Cool owns two Nikons and loves them both. Good choice.
