Metallica - World Magnetic Tour KC 2008

It took me 27 years to make it, but I was finally able to see Metallica; Live! Greg and I are very big Metallica fans and I did all I could to get my hands on a pair of tickets to a sold out show. It happened and we are thrilled it did!

Our seats were 31 rows back and awesome! They sounded fantastic and even though I was worried about being so old and attending a rock concert, I was by no means the oldest or the youngest. We saw adults who were probably in their 50's and children as young as 10. A concert for all ages! The performance was outstanding and included lazer lights and pyrotechnics. Lots of fire!

I know Greg had a great time and was so elated we went. Even though I wasn't the head banging, rocking it out girl, I still had a blast and enjoyed it very much. We'd see them again in a heartbeat! It was extremely loud from where we were and by the end of the show, I couldn't hear anything but a muffled ringing in my ears. It was better by this morning but a very weird sensation.

Unfortunately cameras were not allowed near the arena. I was even more upset when I did see individuals get camera equipment past security. I was able to snatch a few photos from the performance from MetOnTour.com. They did a great job capturing the moments and those photos are what I have posted here. Defiantly the best concert I have ever been to.

I would have NEVER pegged you as a Metallica fan. We need to chat. My hubby has tons of concerts I can copy for you.

Todd so wanted to go to this, however I have made the vow not to attend any more concerts with him. Brett was going to get them tickets but then didnt because he didnt want to part with the money to buy them. :) typical kid. I am glad you got tickets...very exciting.

So much fun!! Looks like you had a blast. And I was about to say... WOW, amazing photos.. till I read the part about you not taking them. I'm sure it made the night even more fun, though, to not worry about pics. :)

I would LOVE to go to a concert with my husband. He probably wouldn't want to go see Metallica though. We would love to see U2, but they cost WAY too much.

That's so cool that you scored tickets!

How fun! I think the last concert I went to involved the Wiggles...or Sesame Street. But it wasn't anything fun as Metallica!

i showed my boys these photos and they almost fell out of their seats. they are both very jealous. we are surprising one of them with tickets to AC/DC for his birthday. a VERY thinly veiled excuse to go rock out.
