Baking Halloween Cookies

The Princesses and I did a little baking last week. I have ziplock bags full of cookie cutters that have been waiting to be used. Izabel gathered all the Halloween and spooky icons (and some hearts). She helped me roll out the dough and started cutting away like a pro. Emily sat at the table with us and tried to cut once, but otherwise she wanted to play in the flour. That was okay, I wanted her to enjoy it as much as her big sister.

The cookies turned out very well. The decorating was slightly messy, but the food coloring didn't get anywhere that couldn't be wiped down or washed. Both Izzy and Emmy tasted almost every cookie in the batch and all seemed to be kid approved!

Yum! That looks like so much fun. I've been needing to bake with my kiddos and haven't made the time yet. Maybe tomorrow!

How sweet is that. Your little chef's looked so adorable.
Chris' days off have switched and now he has Friday and Saturday's off. So by the time I get Coltan and Cody back on Sunday, there just isn't enough time to do fun activities like that. I usually make them with just Carson and I. Monday rolls around and we have soccer practice Monday-Thursday so maybe we will get a nice rainy day this week and we can have some family fun.

Yummy :) They did a great job! Last year my twins wanted to help with cookies but they kind of went crazy with the cookie cutters, doing multiple shapes on top of each other, lol. We may have to do some cookies here soon... now I'm craving them!

How fun to share 'the cookie process' and involvement this way ;--)

I have yet to try cut out cookies with the kids. They seem so intimidating since I have been getting cookies from the place we got them for Liv's birthday!

But they do look like they had fun!

PS the only thing we use cookie cutters for is playdoh! LOL

Those are some blue, blue eyes. I love messy kid faces -- so much character.
