Silly Monkey Story Tuesday- Bed Bug

Izabel finally got around to sleeping around her second birthday. Up until that point, Izzy hated to sleep, especially at night.

By the time Izabel was 12 months old she had outgrown her crib. She wanted nothing to do with it and wouldn't even play near it. We set up her toddler bed, but when she would finally sleep she wanted to curl up in her boppy on the floor.

After her obsession with the floor, Izabel's new favorite place to sleep was the sofa. For months and months, she would grab her pillow and blanket and sleep on the couch. It was really never an issue for us.

One day I finally decided that it was time for Izabel to like her bed AND sleep in it. It took a few months, but Izzy finally knew that when it was bedtime she had to sleep in her bed.

At least until mommy and daddy were asleep...

Once we were asleep, Izabel would then move herself to the couch to finish her slumber.

This has been going on for months now and again, I find myself not worrying about it and letting it go on. She's sleeping and that is a huge step in the land of Izzy! I don't really care where she sleeps, as long as she sleeps!

That is until recently. I'd say it's been happening for 2 months or so. Izabel has been moving herself from her bed, to the couch and then to OUR bed. And not only does she crawl right up and get comfy, but she does so in the strangest positions. This morning, Daddy woke up for work to find Izabel's feet on his chest and her head by his feet. Needless to say, there really isn't enough room for the three of us. If Izzy snuggles in closer to Daddy in the early hours of the morning, I usually get up and move to the sofa. I too don't care where I sleep, as long as I can get some.

Izabel's sleeping habits are routine with us, but to an outsider, she might just be a little silly!

Below are just a few of the most recent sleeping positions we've found her.

Don't you just wish that we could still sleep like that? We had kids moving in and out of our bed for so many years and we never let us bother us. So many folks get so upset about it. Eventually they quit leaving their own beds. :)

LOL! It looks like she can sleep just about anywhere as long as it's not her own bed.

What a great story! Thanks for sharing it!!

Feisty is not good at staying in her bed either, and she's 4. Such cute sleeping positions! I know how awful it is to try to sleep with a toddler, though - not good!
